Welcome to Cabarrus County

You wouldn’t call us a “swing county” exactly—Trump won 53% of the vote here in 2024—but we still play an essential role in the state and nationwide struggle against MAGA. First, you have to remember every vote cast here in Cabarrus is as crucial as a vote cast anywhere else in North Carolina. (A lot of political “strategists” overlook that basic fact, and assume that rural Democratic voters don’t count—maybe don’t exist.) Second, here in Cabarrus, Democrats don’t just exist; we’re gaining ground.

Almost 90% of the counties in our country shifted Red in the 2024 election, but not here, where we shifted 1.8% Blue. And we’re in North Carolina, which is where this mess began: the Koch brothers and the Republican Party spent a ton of money to win seats in the state legislature, then used their new Republican majority to gerrymander the state and lock in a Republican majority forever!

As our 2024 results show, the Caribous County Democratic Party is successfully fighting back.
